Tokenäs mill
With its beautiful location on the land castle at Byxelkrok, the mill is a particularly decorative element in the landscape and should therefore primarily be remembered in the event of a possible renovation of the mills in Böda. The mill was probably built in 1878 or possibly 1853.
The mill was donated to Böda hembygdsförening in 1998 by John Englund's sterbhus co-owner, Gertrud Åhs f Englund and others, according to a deed of gift. The mill was blown over and rebuilt in 1999/2000, at a cost of about SEK 95,000. During the reconstruction, the roof, walls and parts of the base were newly made. Much of the interior is unassembled and partly damaged inside the mill. The hinge is in good condition." Damage to the wings' damper frames was repaired in the summer of 2004.
The original owner is unknown. Previously, two mills stood here. The old hiking rings are still visible. One mill was demolished and the other moved to a place in between.
The mill was in use no later than 1910 when the steam mill in Mellby had been put into use, with the exception of some "maple milling" during World War II.
