Radby in Bredinge

Radby in Bredinge

Bredinge is located on the slope of the castle and is reached via a small exit road with avenue planting from the main road. The village is divided into two parts, northern and southern Bredinge. In the northern part of the village, the farms are located west of the village street, while those in the southern part are located east of the village street. It is an elongated terraced village and contains several well-preserved farms. The parts of the farms bordering the slightly winding village street are built in whitewashed limestone.

A terraced village is characterised by the fact that the farms are located in a row, often along a village street. The World Heritage Site Southern Öland's agricultural landscape consists of the terraced villages, the cultivated land, the lakelands and the Great Alvar.
