Ottenby Lund - Birdwatching Platform | The Cannon Tower
To get to the Bird Towers in Ottenby lund, make a detour towards Öland's South Cape from road 136. You can reach Kanontornet by taking the first exit to the left and following the signs to Norra Lunden / Schäferiängarna to the Norra lund car park. At the car park there is a rest area with toilets and tables. From the car park, an approximately 1.5 km long gravel road leads you east towards Norra Lundtornet. To get to Kanontornet, take the first exit from the gravel road to the right and follow Finnslättsvägen towards the Södra lund car park. Before you arrive at the car park, continue on Finnslättsvägen east towards Schäferiängarna. When you reach the edge of the grove, you then continue north to arrive at the bird watching platform Kanontornet.
An alternative way to get to the birdwatching platform Kanontornet is to continue on the road towards Öland's Södra udde to the Södra lund parking lot. From the parking lot, head out northeast along Finnslättsvägen and take the first detour east. When you reach the edge of the grove, you then continue north to arrive at Kanontornet. Kanontornet is handicap friendly and to get out to the platform it is a low slope. From Kanontornet there is a magnificent view of Schäferiängarna. At the platform there is a coffee table and an information board.
