MS Dessi - Bicycle Ferry
During the bright time of the year, April to September, the bicycle ferry Dessi operates to and from Öland. Since there is a ban on cycling and walking on the Öland Bridge, the ferry is used extensively by both tourists and commuters. Bicycles are transported in racks on the aft deck, which has room for 50 bicycles.
Between Öland and Kalmar
The crossing between Färjestaden and Kalmar takes about 30 minutes. In the saloon, with cafeteria, and on the sun deck there is room for 118 passengers. Bicycles are transported in racks on the aft deck, which has room for 50 bicycles. Boarding takes place at Skeppsbron in Kalmar, as well as in Färjestaden's harbor on Öland.
Tickets and prices
Tickets can be purchased on board the ferry with a debit card. There are also different types of discounted cards such as 10-cards. These are also purchased on board the ferry, directly from the deckhand. Read more about tickets and prices on the timetable.
