Mirja Betzholtz

In my creation, I start from events and experiences in life's small and big moments. For me, it is about expressing what is felt in the body, here and now. I let myself be guided by experiences with a curiosity and lustfulness in the process, where a contemplation of the outside world, encounters and smells are important. I try to let my creativity rest in the eyes of the beholder.

It was only after retirement that I started my creative activities. Before that, I was active as a teacher in pedagogy, with a focus on interculturality. My "moment" came in connection with a visit to a Van Gogh exhibition at Kalmar Castle. After the exhibition, a joint sitting was offered with creativity in focus. It was "There and Then" that it happened to me, that my creativity took shape.
