Celebrate Midsummer the Öland way

Midsummer's Eve is approaching here on the island of sun and wind! The maypole will be dressed with flowers and leaves, strawberry cakes will be baked and flower wreaths will be tied. Herring will be put in and the accordion will be brought out. Maybe you'll even sleep with seven kinds of flowers under your pillow! Öland is a magical place to celebrate the summer's most wonderful holiday. There are several different Midsummer celebrations around the island and here we list some of them.
