Martin Enander - Gallery Skriketorp

Martin has been painting since the late 60s. Initially oil, then watercolor and acrylic.
In the latter half of the 1970s he lived in Gothenburg. Painted there in the evenings at Gustavus Primus painting school, which was located in old Haga, at that time mostly demolition properties. He also drew kroki at Chalmers with the architects in the evenings. By day, Martin studied medicine. In 1981 he moved to Sundsvall, where he became a member of the Sundsvall collective workshop.
In the early 1980s, he also had the privilege of taking a course with Arne Isacsson at Gerlesborg School. Arne was, and is, an icon in watercolor painting. One of his winged words is that the watercolor technique can be summarized in three words: "Use more water". Arne also revived the interest in the grammar of the image, and the harmony of the colors, the different characteristics of the pigments.
It was Martin's first course at Gerlesborg School, then there have been many more, for Lars Holm, Anders Wallin, Lasse Andreasson and others.
In Sundsvall and up in Ångermanland, high coast, they had meetings with other inspiring artists, including Thage Nordholm, Johan Lundgren and Hans Erik Öberg.
In recent years, Martin has had several recurring teachers and sources of inspiration, including Anders Wallin, Gunnel Moheim, Håkan Lager, and others. For a number of years he has been a member of Åkerbokonstnärerna on northern Öland, a group that celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2018.
