Gettlinge Burial Ground
Gettlinge burial ground is located on the western land castle next to road 136 with a beautiful view of Kalmarsund. Some graves are also located on the alvar east of the road.
The burial field stretches from the southern part of Klinta or Gettlinge village, approx. 2 kilometers south. In the northern part you will find the most varied burial forms. Here is a stone ship and a couple of judge's rings of round stone blocks, resting on three smaller stones, a type characteristic of Öland.
Next to the stone ship are two tall limestone slabs. On the burial ground there are several standing stones, four-sided stone settings, etc.
Only a minor investigation has been made in the burial ground, which yielded finds from the Roman Iron Age. Spurs, spearheads and a cold dent were found. The given burial forms show that the main part of the burial field probably belongs to the Late Iron Age.
