Ecopark Böda

Ecopark Böda is a peculiar and inviting landscape on the northernmost tip of Öland. Ecopark Böda offers everything from barren sands with storm-twisted pines, to calcareous meadow pine forests with a diversity of orchids and lush deciduous groves and old oaks.

Böda not only has a fascinating nature to offer - the cultural heritage is also very tangible. The large number of well-preserved ancient monuments is unique in northern Europe. Almost completely intact villages with house foundations, stone fences and burial grounds tell of the life of former Ölanders here.

Böda is one of Sweden's most visited leisure areas. On sunny summer days, the bay's beautiful sandy beaches are popular. Around the whole of Böda there is a cycle path that passes several of the many sights. The forest landscape is very valuable and varied thanks to a long cultural history. In order to preserve and recreate the unique diversity in Böda, Sveaskog has chosen to make the area an ecopark. Through well-planned nature conservation, more meadow pine forest, deciduous forest, wetlands and ancient monuments are created, and cultural monuments have been highlighted.
