Bibi Spets - Walter Frylestam's studio
A nature painting from the inside with the landscape as a starting point. Expressive, poetic painting.
During the Art Landscape Öland 2025, 29 May - 1 June, Bibi Spets exhibits in the Gallery at Skabbekattens Keramik on the old farm at Djurstad bygata 19.
Bibi Spet's painting is based on experiences of nature and can be seen as an intuitive, lyrical painting. The colours are often strong and the mood is condensed.
"Bibi Spets draws inspiration from nature, from the surroundings of a beloved landscape, Öland where she grew up and to which she returned, but also images she is enthusiastic about. [...] The work continues in a series of guided tours towards alternating close-ups, and strictly speaking would not stop if it were not the case that new canvases hunger to be saturated with color. It is thus about a vision similar to that of when we look at the sky and clouds that are constantly changing and where you see that the blue color is not blue but orange-blue-purple with pink elements. In a similar way, new changing things and combinations are discovered in Bibi's paintings." (Wonder-A Landscape, Peter Hultsberg & Bibi Spets, 2023)
