Ann-Britt Malmsten
Painting in Ateljé Störlinge.
Ann-Britt Malmsten was born in 1958 and grew up in Kalmar County. Permanent resident on Öland since the spring of 2024. As a young person, she attended preparatory art education at Öland Folk High School but later chose a career in the textile industry in Borås.
At the same time, art has been present in parallel in her life, and over the years there have been many evening, weekend and summer courses in painting, drawing, crocheia, etc. Today, it is mainly painting in oil and acrylic that Ann-Britt devotes herself to. The motifs are people, flowers and still lifes. It is the contrast between light and darkness that attracts her to painting.
Ann-Britt has been represented at Borås Autumn Salon (5 occasions between 2005 and 2017), Sydosten in Kalmar (2018 and 2022) and with a solo exhibition "Body Language-Power Language" at Atelje Erika Wallin in Limmared in March 2024. Today she has her studio and showroom in the yard of her home in Störlinge where the first exhibition was opened up during the Harvest Festival 2024.
"Painting is an exciting journey and now that I can devote myself to it wholeheartedly, I want to be able to continue to explore and develop my imagery" -Ann-Britt February 2025
