Horns Vingård
It all started off with the Horn af Rantzien and the Tarrida- Baiges families imagining the possibility of starting a wine project on Öland in new year’s eve 2008.
Soon after the renowned Spanish winemaker – Josep Lluis Perez – was contacted. The legendary professor had the experience and qualifications needed to be able to assess how much of a dream and how much of reality there was in this idea.
Together with Mr. Perez, a thorough study was undertaken on the climate and soil characteristics as well as through in-depth interviews with other winemakers and farmers in the island. All the conclusions of the preliminary study showed a positive result: it is possible to make high quality wine in Öland.
