Northern Öland
The north of the island has a lot to offer: lake and coast, forest and open plains, rocky shores and sandy beaches, nightlife and beach life, gourmet dinners and forest picnics. In the traditional seaside resort of Borgholm, you will find shopping, restaurants, cultural attractions, accommodations and anything else you may wish for a jam-packed holiday. The endless sandy beaches along the north-eastern coast are dazzlingly beautiful and attract many visitors each year. The more adventurous may prefer the western coast with its sea-stacks, pebbles and rubble stones. The deep forests in the north provide a peaceful experience, with whistling pine trees that allow the sunlight to sprinkle down onto the soft mossy ground. As you travel along the winding roads, flea markets, handicraft and farm shops may appear at any point.
